How to remove all speaker notes and comments in PowerPoint
Short answer: File > Info > Check for Issues > Inspect Document, tick Presentation Notes and Comments, click Inspect, then Remove All next to each. Do it on a copy: it cannot be undone once saved.
With PowerPoint only
- Comments: Review tab > Delete > Delete All Comments in This Presentation.
- Speaker notes: File > Info > Check for Issues > Inspect Document > Presentation Notes > Remove All.
- Document properties and author: same Document Inspector, Document Properties and Personal Information.
Why it matters on a deal
Notes are where people write what they would never put on the slide: pricing views, concerns about the client, the next bidder's name. Sending the deck as a PowerPoint file sends the notes too.
One click with Plzfix
- Delete speaker notes, Delete comments and Delete metadata are separate buttons, so you remove exactly what you want.
- Also: delete invisible shapes, alt text, animations and transitions, and hyperlinks.
- Save backup first keeps a timestamped copy next to the original.
Questions
Does saving as PDF remove speaker notes?
A standard PDF export shows slides only, not notes, unless you choose to print notes pages. Comments can still be exported depending on settings, so check before sending.
Do my files leave my computer?
No. Every tool runs locally inside Office. Plzfix only contacts the internet to validate your licence and check for updates. Your workbooks and decks are never uploaded.
How much does Plzfix cost?
There is a free tier with a daily click allowance and every tool unlocked. Pro is €10 per month, €50 for 6 months or €90 per year, per user, with unlimited use.
