How to align shapes to one reference shape in PowerPoint
PowerPoint's Align menu lines shapes up with the edge of the whole selection or the slide. It cannot align everything to one shape you choose, which is what you usually want when fixing a slide.
With PowerPoint only
- Select the shapes, then Shape Format > Align > Align Left, Top, Center and so on.
- Align Selected Objects uses the outer edge of the selection; Align to Slide uses the slide.
- To align to one shape, first move that shape to be the outermost one, or type its exact position in the Size & Position pane for each shape.
One click with Plzfix
- Select the reference shape first, then the others.
- Smart left, right, top, bottom, center or middle aligns everything to that first shape. With a single shape, it snaps to the slide.
- Copy width, height or both from the first shape; copy its text margins too.
- Arrange distributes shapes evenly inside a container or across the slide.
